The American athlete had a puncture through his lungs

Choose Godwin was in a dangerous accident while training on the campus of the University of Georgia, USA.

Sports injuries, especially for famous athletes, are very normal. However, in the case of this male American athlete whose name is Choose Godwin, it is indeed a rare case.

Godwin practiced running back and forth to forge his calves, but did not notice that the javelin was already available in the land behind that was thrown by an athlete. Consequently, he suffered a puncture from the back to the left lung, with a depth of about 15 cm.

“I don’t dare look at the wound”, said the first-year student at the University of Georgia. He added: “At first I did not feel pain, but when I saw blood spurting out of my mouth, I began to realize the seriousness of the incident. The bleeding was the worst. I felt like I was painting. I have to move with my toes to make sure things are not worse”.

Godwin was later taken to a hospital in Athens, Georgia. Doctors have surgery to remove the tuberculosis stuck in this athlete’s chest. Godwin was more or less fortunate, when the tuberculosis did not crash into the heart or any important artery.

The University of Georgia sporting director, Greg McGarity, takes responsibility for the incident. The school run area was overwhelmed by the many athletes who practiced for the SEC Championships in Arkansas at the weekend, leading to Godwin having to move to the grass field. “We will look at the case and re-plan the practice area”, Mr. Garity said.

Godwin is a potential athlete of Georgia. Last year, he finished third at the men’s 400-meter run at the National Youth League, with a record of 45.83 seconds. Godwin was then recruited to join the nation’s youth and join the US team to win a silver medal in the men’s 4×400 meter men’s event in the 2018 world youth tournament.
